So Toon Link just needs color. Like, he screams out for it with all of his being. Because that's just the way it is. So I decided to color him. My conclusion: I need to (1) get better at coloring things, and (2) get better things to color things with. I started with digital, but for some reason I just felt very dissatisfied with it. After about an hour and a half of that, I tried coloring the original drawing with some oil pastels, but due to the extremely small size of the sketch, and the bluntness of the crayons, it was very hard to get much precision. I also discovered that the paper I draw on is rather too rough for oil pastels. I now had a half-finished digital version, and a ruined hard copy. So I decided to start over, drawing Link again from scratch, this time larger. I finished, and decided to add color via colored pencils. Now my colored pencils are rather limited in spectrum, so I'm not a huge fan of the colors used, and the paper is still too rough, preventing me from getting a smooth texture. Also, due to the amount of erasing and re-drawing of certain parts, there are scratches in the paper that affected the coloring stage. All in all, though, I don't think it came out *too* badly.

No, not a web link. Link. Like, Hero of Time Link. Or, to be more accurate, Waker of the Winds Link. While I was away for the summer, I picked up some Phantom Hourglass collectible figurines from a Target (so I guess to be even more accurate, it would be Phantom Hourglass Link). I've always loved the stylized look of Toon Link, so I decided to do a sketch of the figure. I'll probably be posting a digitally colored version of this sometime later. Enjoy!
